Scenic Halong Bay, with its emerald seas, rests beautifully over
the Red River Delta. This region, "the Bay of the Descending Dragon", is dotted
with more than 3,000 mountainous islands, each with its own unique landscape.
The islands are famous for their dolomite and limestone rock formations, many of
which have been given names. Natural grottos, fjords, land tunnels and inlets
are also common. During the Vietnam War, numerous large ships sailed through the
open waters of the bay and now an excursion by junk, cruises or fishing boat
gives you the memorable experience of sailing past silent, sea-girt caves and
around the spectacular formations, tasting fresh and authentic Vietnamese
cuisines, breathing cool breezing from the Gulf of Tonkin and enjoying a
romantic night with your sweet hearts under the starry sky. That's all we can

Satursday : Hanoi - Halong
Pick up
from you hotel at 8.30 am and transfer to Gia Lam heliport for a 1 scenic
hour helicopter ride through the Red River Delta to Ha Long City
, viewing towering limestone back drop of
Halong bay . Arrive in Halong City we transfer to a refurbished
wooden sailing junk for a cruise through the limestone cliffs and emerald
waters of Halong Bay, giving us the chance to take in the stunning scenery
of this World Heritage Site.

13h00: Have lunch with welcome

14h00: A fantastic cruise in

If you have more money than time, or prefer a double shot of adventure, or
for a birth 's eye view of swaying Halong bay , you can go by helicopter.
Helicopter service aboard Russian-built MI-8 or MI-17 helicopters
is offered on Saturday only. You depart at 8 a.m. from Gialam heliport,
about 15 km from center of Hanoi. Free transportation to Gialam heliport
from the Metropole Hotel departs at 7:15 a.m. The return flight is at 3 p.m.
the same day.
