Restaurants in Da Nang

Apsara Restaurant - stylish
Tran Phu St - Da Nang
Another stylish place set in a large colonial building and very popular with Da Nang's up and coming (or already arrived) hiso crowd, Apsara does very good food in a modern setting. Prices reflect the setting and the clientele -- a good spot for a splurge.
Type of Food: Seafood / Vietnamese /

Bakery Coffee House - breakfast with a smile
Tran Phu St - Da Nang
If you're after some bakery goods and steaming coffee, you could do worse than this modern little outlet on Tran Phu St. Friendly staff bring a smile to your table every time.
Type of Food: Bakery / Coffee and/or Tea House /

Gia Lang - festive
Le Dinh Duong St, Da Nang - Da Nang
This festive spot next door to Truc Lam Vien is worth checking out for a few quick drinks and a meal. Hugely popular in the evening with the locals, it is worth a look, though not a word of English was spoken when we visited.
Type of Food: Vietnamese /

Quang Trung St cafes - looks promising
Quang Trung St - Da Nang
We didn't actually try these places, but there is a long strip of cafes that looked to be aimed at young Vietnamese -- could be an interesting locale to investigate in the evening.
Type of Food: Coffee and/or Tea House /

The Cool Spot - western hang out
112 Tran Phu St, Da Nang - Da Nang
Tel: (511) 824 040

The Cool Spot is a western style hole-in-the-wall bar serving predominantly western and Japanese food. The food is decent if you really have a craving that needs to be sorted out, but this is probably a better spot for a cold drink. The bar has a few internet terminals at the rear, though at $4 an hour, it was the most expensive we came across in the entire country. The upstairs Christies Restaurant shares the same owner.
Type of Food: International / Japanese /

Truc Lam Vien - lovely traditional setting
37 Le Dinh Duong St, Da Nang - Da Nang
Tel: (511) 582 428

This very interesting spot is conveniently set just down the road from the Hoa Hong Hotel in the southern part of Da Nang city. The very pleasing ornamental garden setting has a number of separate buildings both for eating and drinking, and, by the look of the sizeable TV in one, karaoke. The food is very good, with the seafood particularly worthy of trying out. Prices are reasonable for the setting. Worth a try.
